These Cello-Green™ bio straws are made from PLA, a compostable plant-based material with great properties. Polyactic acid (PLA) is a plastic substrate made from fermented plant starch (usually corn) and it is fast becoming a popular alternative to straws made with traditional petroleum based plastic.

After use, these sturdy, jumbo 7.75-inch green wrapped straws can be given a new life as compost - they're certified to degrade in a commercial composting facility within 60-180 days! Designed to last for hours in cold drinks such as shakes, soda, slurpees and smoothies. Not for use in hot beverages over 120®F!
