THESE CARGO DESICCANTS WILL NEVER LEAKA Leaky Desiccant

DISCONTINUED

A desiccant is a white or brown packet made of moisture absorbing granules that induces or sustains a state of dryness in any environment inside its sealed vicinity. Silica gel, clay, activated carbon or molecular sieve desiccants are commonly encountered in the packaging, shipping and storing of pharmaceutical, electronic, food and manufacturing industries as a way to prolong, preserve, protect products and secondary packaging along the global supply chain.

Perhaps the most important component of a desiccant is the desiccant itself. A desiccant is quite simply a chemical that adsorbs (not absorbs) moisture. Moreover, the desiccants used in desiccant dehumidifiers are able to release the same adsorbed moisture when it becomes heated. This ability to not only adsorb moisture but also to release it when heated is absolutely critical to the proper functioning of a desiccant dehumidifier.

Desiccants work by a process called adsorption where moisture in the air is absorb between tiny pores. As the air passes through, it traps moisture molecules and filters the air dry. The adsorption process is easily reversible. If the desiccant is heated it will release its' trapped water - called regenerating of the desiccant.

The downside to this is in applications where internal temperatures exceed the thresholds of the absorbing substance, a desiccant can partially regenerate, expelling moisture back into the air and causing the packet to leach or leak. Leaching puts the treated environment or product at grave danger to mold, mildew, staining, rusting which translates to big money lost.

TranSorb® Humidity Absorber Bags | Moisture Absorber Packs | DesiccantTranSorb® is a Patented Non-Leaching & Intelligent Cargo Desiccant Certified to Wick Airborne Moisture for 90+ days at 86°F, 90%RH!

Unregulated airborne moisture can breed mold in twenty-four hours and rust in two days.

These powerful and large size TranSorb® desiccants or high-humidity absorber pouches attract, capture and convert airborne moisture into dry crystal-like flakes. This process prevents potential mold, mildew or corrosion to compartments and sealed interiors prone to moisture for 90+ days*.

These powerful and intelligent industrial sorbent packs sense changes in the internal cabin compartments or external environment and respond by actively adsorbing climatic moisture buildup. And, they never leach or create waste water!
