Dupont Limited-Use Chemical-Resistant Apparel

Product Guide

Dupont Tyvek PPE ClassifactionWith so many options, selecting a protective garment can be as confusing as selecting a pair of work gloves.

To make it easier for customers to select the correct level of protection, DuPont Personal Protection has simplified its product identification system and replaced the original product names with an easy-to-follow numeric system.

COLOR-CODED PROTECTION

In addition, DuPont has replaced all garment patches and introduced new color-coded octagons on packaging and the garments that indicate the degree of protection. Grey indicates that the P.P.E. can withstand non-hazardous liquids and particulates, while blue means that the P.P.E. is protection against hazardous particulates and light chemical splash. The highest degree of protection – for P.P.E. providing a reliable barrier against chemical, biological and thermal hazards – is indicated by orange branding.

The global rebranding and recertification of its extensive range of limited-use P.P.E. garments includes the ProShield®, Tyvek® and Tychem® brand of chemical-resistant products. For ease of ordering, product numbers and references were retained.

DuPont has developed HAZMAT garments, biohazard suits and more to help protect against the chemical and biological hazards they face while at work. To help assist you with the best fabric for the tasks, below is a general description of these styles.
