The Quest for Perfection

After studying the competition and listening to those who wear gloves all-day everyday, Superior Glove® decided they could reconstruct their Clutch Gear® line of mechanic work gloves to better suit the needs of those wearing them.

In 2016, the product development team over at Superior Glove® decided to revamp their popular Clutch Gear® line of mechanic gloves to be “tough as hell” yet be comfortable and effective to wear when on the job. Clutch Gear_® Product Enhancements

When it comes to glove degradation, abrasion is the root of all evil. It prematurely eats away at the palms causing the gloves to be disposed. In a quest for perfection, Superior Glove® engineers decided to do away with synthetic leather palms and incorporated goatskin instead. While synthetic leather is good, it has distinct disadvantages in that it’s not very long lasting nor does it conform to the hand.

Goatskin leather on the other hand provides the best abrasion and tensile strength for its weight. It’s thin, soft, breathable, flexible, very comfortable and highly pliable due to the presence of lanolin. While goatskin may have a higher upfront cost, it saves money over the long run and is a logical choice for hand protection in demanding jobs. If oil and grease are an issue, available on select Clutch Gear® glove styles is the addition of split leather. Split leather palms and thumb patches allow for better oil grip and abrasion resistance for enhanced durability.

Other unique features to the Clutch Gear® lineup of Mechanic Gloves is the Spandex Forchettes which connects the palm to the back of the hand and allows for better flexibility, fit and breathability. These Spandex Forchettes allow the glove to work with movements rather than against them which keeps the hands fresher and more productive.

Select Clutch Gear® glove styles are available with ANSI safety ratings, impact resistant TPR knuckle guards, and with hi-viz color accents, all of which provide unequivocal added safety benefits. And lastly, standard on each style is a wide-band Velcro® cuff closure with ID label that allows users to customize and personalize their industrial work safety glove.
