 Prevent the Cross-Contamination of Germs

Yes, We Will Shake Hands Again!

There’s a fast moving and an expanding global outbreak of a respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus. This infectious virus has been named COVID-19. While most cases were initially associated with travel, person-to-person spread is now being reported throughout our country and the world.  Most people infected with this virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.  Older individuals, and those with underlying medical problems such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this disease is an infectious disease that spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s important that you also practice respiratory etiquette (for example, by coughing into a flexed elbow) and seek infection control measures.

SARS-CoV-2 stability similar to original SARS virus.

While there is still much to learn about coronavirus, there is one thing scientists are learning. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), coronavirus likes to cling to surfaces. The virus that causes disease is stable for several hours to days in aerosols and on surfaces, according to a new study from National Institutes of Health, CDC, UCLA and Princeton University scientists in The New England Journal of Medicine. The scientists found that severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was detectable in aerosols for up to three hours, up to four hours on copper, up to 24 hours on cardboard and up to two to three days on plastic and stainless steel. The results provide key information about the stability of SARS-CoV-2, which causes this disease, and suggests that people may acquire the virus through the air and after touching contaminated objects. But don't fret it....

Tacky Mats are placed in the entrances of rooms to remove unwanted particulates and debris from the bottom of shoes, shoe covers, wheeled machinery and/or work carts. Before gaining entrance, workers and visitors are required to contact or step on these adhesive mats which feature an adhesive coating. This coating removes and holds foreign debris and the transfer of contaminates is completed. The result is a cleaner work environment and a reduction in contamination related failures.

Tacky Floor Entrance Mats are usually packaged 4, 6 or 8 mats per case and comprised of your choice of 30 or 60 low-profile layers of incinerable pressure-sensitive adhesive-coated polyethylene film available in different colors and sizes. They leave no residue on your shoes or wheels and they come with individually numbered corners that provide easy traceability and identification.
