The Ansell AlphaTec™ Breathable FR Detachable Hood 66-654 provides an added layer of protection for workers exposed to chemical splash, flash-fire and hot-liquid hazards. Designed as an optional hood for compatible AlphaTec™ Breathable protective garments, it attaches to the collar using hook-and-loop fasteners and includes a chin strap to help maintain a secure connection during demanding work applications.

The hood combines flame-resistant and chemical-splash-resistant fabric with a breathable construction designed to help dissipate body heat. This breathable design can help reduce the risk of heat stress and improve wearer comfort during extended industrial applications.

A laminated fabric system provides durability while allowing the hood to be machine washed for longer, more economical service life. The construction incorporates a white Nomex® inner layer, breathable membrane and blue Nomex® outer layer, with stitched and taped seams.

The AlphaTec™ 66-654 is available in one size, is blue, weighs 280 gsm, and is individually packaged. The product has a listed five-year shelf life.

Updated Chemical Protection Information

The updated material continues to provide protection against more than 70 hazardous chemicals. However, the material did not pass penetration testing for the following chemicals and is not recommended for use where exposure to these substances may occur:

• Sulfuric Acid (93%)
• Nitrobenzene
• Dimethyl Formamide (DMF)
