Do you know that most concussions and traumatic brain injuries are the result of rotational force and strain to the brain? Injury statistics demonstrate that when a person trips on a level surface, they’re more likely to fall at an angle instead of directly on top of the head. This is due to the forward energy of motion that may extend to the head when hitting the ground. Mips® Brain Protection System can help protect workers against rotational forces that often result from a workplace trip or fall.

The ANSI Certified Type II, Class E Full Brim Safety helmet features a new safety system designed to reduce concussions and traumatic brain injuries from rotational forces, falling objects and lateral impacts. Safety helment is made from a super lightweight ABS shell and a integrated EPS inner shell foam liner that work in conjunction with the highly adjustable 4-point HDPE inner suspension to provide exceptional protection from top of head and lateral impact hazards. The Kilimanjaro™ - Mips® (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) offers a low friction layer that allows the head to move inside the helmet (10mm – 15mm relative motion in all directions) which can redirect the harmful rotational motion otherwise transferred to the head.

Mips® is a patented safety system technology born from 25 years of science, research and incorporated on the Kilimanjaro Safety Helmet available from PIP® (Protective Industrial Product). Mips® is designed to protect workers from fallen objects and redirect the harmful forces generated by dangerous angled impacts thereby reducing the severity of head injuries from rotational forces that may be transferred to the head when falling.
